a collection of 21 beautifully recreated photographs are shown to the audience and mixed throughly, by a spectator if wished. Sat opposite 2 participants, the performer begins to offer the cards to each of the 2;

“You will recieve a feeling to keep an amount of these, the rest we will discard.”

Once all the photographs are spent, the spectators may turn over the piles of photos that they have freely selected and revealed is a perfect separation of the living from the dead.

Jim Critchlow goes into great detail about the creation of White Star, the history and origins of the methods used and the psychology that can be applied to the effect to not only surprise and amaze the spectators, but to leave a lasting psychological impression on them long after the performance.
